My Psalm

I love Psalm 27. How I first read about it was through a fictional love story. Cool, huh? Fictional love story also got Psalm 27...well, it's a Christian love story.

Anywayz.

Going through life and seeing how things are ... information that comes in a sudden, decisions that are unwise...speech that is said...

I run back to Psalm 27. It's the Psalm that I hold dearly. I could imagine King David sing to this when he wrote it. Would there have been some drumbeats in his head like how Hillsong Australia sing a song based on Psalm 27? Or will there be the utmost quietness and utmost reverence...that the angels join him in his chorus?

Psalm 27: A psalm of David.

The LORD is my light and my salvation—
whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—
of whom shall I be afraid?

When evil men advance against me
to devour my flesh,
when my enemies and my foes attack me,
they will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me,
my heart will not fear;
though war break out against me,
even then will I be confident.

One thing I ask of the LORD,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the LORD
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD
and to seek him in his temple.

For in the day of trouble
he will keep me safe in his dwelling;
he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle
and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted
above the enemies who surround me;
at his tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy;
I will sing and make music to the LORD.

Hear my voice when I call, O LORD;
be merciful to me and answer me.

My heart says of you, "Seek his face!"
Your face, LORD, I will seek.

Do not hide your face from me,
do not turn your servant away in anger;
you have been my helper.
Do not reject me or forsake me,
O God my Savior.

Though my father and mother forsake me,
the LORD will receive me.

Teach me your way, O LORD;
lead me in a straight path
because of my oppressors.

Do not turn me over to the desire of my foes,
for false witnesses rise up against me,
breathing out violence.

I am still confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the LORD
in the land of the living.

Wait for the LORD;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the LORD.

You are my light and salvation
Whom shall I fear?
You are the strength of all my days
Of whom shall I be afraid?
Though war may rise against me
Of this will I be sure

That I will bless the Lord forever
I'll bless Your holy name
Yes I will bless the Lord forever
I'll bless Your holy name

Lord it is You I desire
It's You that I seek
To live with You in Your house forever
Beholding Your beauty
And in the time of trouble
Of this will I be sure

That I will bless the Lord forever
I'll bless Your holy name
Yes I will bless the Lord forever
I'll bless Your holy name

You ask me who do I
Say that You are and I
Say that You are the Christ
The Son of the Living God (Matthew 16:16)

Pray Me Home

Every night I sit in my room, a sense of depression, regret and guilt sweeps over me.

It's as if I have lived a hopeless day, said hopeless things, done hopeless action. A wave of hopelessness just sweeps upon me...almost every night. Sometimes I felt that I cannot go on. My heart feels so heavy.

That's why now I have to spend time with God in the night especially. He's the only one who sees me in my most vulnerable. My most insecure time, I am safe in His arms.

Of course, that doesn't mean I don't feel hopeless. It's only when I spend time with God then only I could be less hopeless.

It's not complex. Sometimes, when you come back to an empty room, from meeting up with friends, spending time with them...it's loneliness.

Interestingly, so many people try to hide their insecurity and loneliness by appearing cool and happy in front of their friends, sometimes hide their misery by getting all too hyper or drunk and speak without comprehension...then you come back sober and full of regrets.

Loneliness is universal. But there's a cure.

We are all still finding it. Yes, even Christians like me. I believe there should be a place for honesty and confession, no? Though we may know the answer, but somehow, we still want to bend and twist around the bush and roads before we are surrenderred into the solution.

People fail. Words go wrong.

Then we blame ourselves. Or others. Or even God.

Don't walk alone.

Well, it's been one of those day
The mountain I'm facing
Seems too hard to climb
And I tried to have faith
But sometimes the rain drives me out of mind
So brother to brother, I come to you
With this one request
Is there room for another
For this weary soldier
That needs a place to rest?

Pray me home
Pray me home
For my heart is so heavy
And I just can't go on
Pray me home
Pray me home
I need you to help me
Don't think I can make it alone
Pray me home

If you see something in me
That cause you question
If my faith is secure
I'm asking you please
Show me compassion
Even though you're unsure

Cause the greater the war that I'm going through
The greater my need
And I want nothing more than
A brother who will
Join me on my knees

Pray me home
Pray me home
Oh my heart is so heavy
And I just can't go on
Pray me home
Pray me home
I need you to help me
Don't think I can make it alone
Pray me home

pray me home...

Wait For Me

There's love in the air...

Relationships relationships relationships. It can be quite stressful, especially when people asks you, "So, got boyfriend already ah? Why haven't?! You're 20 liao! I got married at 2- age leh!"

Erm, stop for a while.

What is the era now? Now everyone is pursuing career and pursuing true love.

But what is true love?

Will true human love be like what is described in 1 Corinthians 13?

Rebecca St. James is almost 28 and she's not attached yet. She is still waiting in purity for her husband. So cool right?

Some people snuff or pooh-pooh the idea of waiting in purity, but why not, I ask you?

Why not wait in purity? You want to give the best to your future spouse don't you? Then, why the hurry? You have the whole life to enjoy it to the fullest. It's just waiting.

Impossible? No!

Difficult? Yes!

Nothing comes easy. But I think that's the beauty of waiting. Wait.

Darling did you know that I, I've dreamed about you
Waiting for the look in your eyes when we meet the first time
Darling did you know that I, I've prayed about you
Praying that you would hold on
And keep your loving eyes only for me

Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Darling wait

Darling did you know I dreamed about life together
Knowing it will be forever
I'll be yours and you'll be mine
Darling when I said,
"Til death do us part"
I mean it with all of my heart
Now and always faithful to you

Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Darling wait

Now I know you might have make mistakes
But there's forgiveness
And a second chance
So wait for me
Darling wait for me
Wait for me
Wait for me

Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Cause I am waiting for
Praying for you darling
Wait for me too
Wait for me as I wait for you
Darling wait

-Rebecca St. James

So wait. Just wait. The best is yet to come.

Wave

It comes like a thunder. It isn't slow.

I am finding myself and yet do I see it coming? Am I on the right track?

Life has suddenly taken a not-so dramatic turn.

Like a wave it comes without warning. And if you're not careful, you could get wet, or worse, be suck under it. How the waters will cover you and how you grope for land...a scary thought isn't it?

I suddenly feel hopeless. Not that I was without hope. I know who God is and I know where my hope comes from, but the more I pursue holiness, the more temptations gnaw at me. I am vulnerable, I am weak, but in Him I am strong.

No longer will I want to be left alone.

No longer will I want to be thinking negative thoughts which will consume me.

I must fight.

But I cannot do it alone.

In choice, there is power.

In choice, there lies destruction and hope.

Choose to stand near the waters and you might get wet. Stay away, and you could just be safe. Take risks, but not foolishly for ego's sake.

Where the treasure is, there the heart will be also.

Come near to God and He will come near to you.

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Be not silent. Do not be far from me, O Lord.

The wave has come once again. This day, I must choose.
